BUTTERFLY MINI HANG-UP

Sometimes while shopping at your local antique mall or flea market, you find that interesting piece but don't know what to do with it. Here's a project that displays how to use The Vintage Workshop's downloadable art to create something using those odds and ends. Remember be creative and let our collections inspire you.

To create this home decor piece, we started with a thin piece of corrugated cardboard cut into a rectangle using decorative edge scissors. All edges in this project are aging using brown aging ink.

Cut out a piece of old sheet music to fit inside the larger rectangle using decorative edge scissors and age the edges. Use brads at each corner of the sheet music to secure to the cardboard. Two strips of paper craft ribbon were also added. Refer to the image to the right for placement. Cut a simple dress shape out of cardboard. Trace this shape onto old book text. Cut out and attach to dress template. Use this same form to trace and cut out a bottom piece for the dress from sheet music. Refer to the image to the right for size. Using decorative edge scissors cut out this piece, age with ink and attach to dress template. Attach the finished dress template to the center of the rectangular base using 3-D adhesive for a raised look.

This little black metal hanger was picked up at an antique mall. We used the clips to "hang" up our finished project.
