  14. How do I know your site is secure?
If you are using Firefox, Netscape, or Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher, check for the picture of a lock in the lower right hand corner of your browser's application window. If the lock is closed you are in a secure area. In some older browsers you may see a key instead of a padlock. Another way to tell is by looking at the URL in your "location" bar: you will see "https://" at the beginning of the URL when you are in the shopping cart area. You must be logged in and past the first page before the SSL encryption will begin. Click here for more information about SSL.

DOWNLOAD & IMAGE QUESTIONS

  1. What are downloadable images?
The Vintage Workshop offers single image downloads as well as two types of image download collections:
Designers Choice Collections contain individual images in JPEG file formats.
Click-n-Cut Collections contain a two page 8.5" x 11" PDF file of the images in various sizes.

  2. What is the resolution of your images via download and Click-n-Craft CD?
Images are presented in high resolution - 200-300 dpi or higher.

  3. Do you add images on a regular basis?
Yes! Single images are added on a regular basis and new download collections are  added at least once a month. Signing up for our FREE e-newsletter will alert you when new images are being introduced.

  4. Where do your images come from?
Our images are derived from our own private collection of vintage source materials such as antique books, postcards & ephemera.

  5. I have never downloaded images from downloadable artwork collections before. How do I do this?
Click here for a tutorial on how to download and install your new purchase. Or visit our Try Before You Buy section to download free images.

  6. What is the difference between an EXE and a ZIP file?
The EXE files are mainly used for the PC user and the ZIP files are for the MAC user but they both contain the same files when the downloading process is complete.

  7. The images I ordered are not clickable. What am I doing wrong?
If you paid for your order by "check/money order" your download collections will not be available until we receive payment.

  8. I downloaded the EXE or ZIP file successfully. Now what do I do?
If you are using a PC:
    1. Double click the My Computer icon from your start menu or desktop.
    2. Select the C: drive and scroll to find "TheVintageWorkshop" folder.
    3. Open to view your downloaded art.
If you are using a Macintosh:
    1. Go to your computer's default location for internet downloads. This is your desktop unless you have changed your preferences.
    2. Locate the ZIP file and double-click to open it. This will create a new folder containing your downloaded images.
    3. If the ZIP file fails to open, click here to visit the SmithMicro software website and download the latest FREE version of Stuffit Expander. After installing, repeat steps 1 and 2.

  9. Do I need a special printer or special paper to achieve the quality and detail you have?
No, most color inkjet printers have the capability to print at 360 DPI or 720 DPI which is what we recommend. We recommend Hewlett-Packard or Epson inkjet printers. For best results from your printer, it is important to use high quality inkjet paper. Copy paper is fine for printing instructions, but NOT for printing color images. We recommend a high quality inkjet paper with a matte finish for the best results.

  10. How do I print multiple images on a page?
There are various ways to go about printing multiple images on a page. One way is to turn the paper around and print the same (or different) images on the other end. Or you can browse the CD images directly by selecting the CD drive in My Computer when the CD is in. Right click on the drive and pick Explore. Then open the Index Images, then Images for Editing folder. Then you have access to all of the images separate from the browser. Double-click to open, or go to Microsoft Word and go to Insert, then Image, and browse to the CD image from there. Then you can put multiple images on a page and arrange them how you like.

  11. How do I reverse or mirror an image to print with iron-on transfers?
If your product requires mirror imaging, click on the print image button, in Acrobat Reader click on the file menu and select page setup. Next, click on properties. Depending upon your type of printer select page layout or setup. Put a check in the box that says mirror image. This will reverse the image as it prints. (Always read the transfer paper manufactures instructions, as some may not require the image to be flipped). Note: Click-n-Craft" iron-on transfers do not require you to mirror the image. Click here for more information on our transfers.

  12. Can I resize images?
Yes, all single image downloads and download collections can be resized.  Each CD has an image index, which contains JPG files you can save to your hard drive. You may re-size PDF images using Acrobat Reader (see the instructions below). You may also import a JPG file into another program and re-size it with that program. TECHNICAL

  1. I am having trouble getting images to print, my computer shows the error message invalid color space, what should I do?
If you receive an error message stating "invalid color space," follow the below instructions for installing Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Click-n-Craft" CD.

  2. How do I install Acrobat Reader?
    1. Insert Click-n-Craft® CD after it loads Quit application
    2. Double click on My Computer.
    3. Right click on The Vintage Workshop® CD icon.
    4. From the drop down menu choose Explore or Browse.
    5. From the files on cd double click on Ar500nu.exe. This will install Adobe® Acrobat Reader.
    6. Remember to restart your computer for settings to take effect.

  3. I am having trouble with my Acrobat Reader install and have received a corrupt file cabinet error message?
    1. Uninstall any existing versions of Acrobat Reader that are already on your computer, including any you installed from a Click-n-Craft CD.
    2. Follow this link: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
    3. Under step one, select the type of computer you have and the operating system you are using.
    4. Click the Download button and begin the download. Once downloaded, double-click on the file you just downloaded and follow the instructions.
    5. Re-start your computer.
    6. Re-insert the Vintage Workshop CD and the program will automatically start again.

  4. I have downloaded my images but cannot get them to open. What do I do?
In order to view any PDF file you need to have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. If you do not have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer you will need to download and install it by visiting www.adobe.com. If you have more than one version of Acrobat Reader installed then you will need to uninstall one version as having two versions installed can cause conflicts. We know that version 6.0 has some quirks and may not view the PDF files correctly. If you have this version installed and are having problems, uninstall it and install a newer version.
